Meijer through 5/16

I'll be updating this post this week as I find deals...but there seems to be some goods sales this week at Meijer. Kraft released some GREAT coupons today on coupons.com and on their website. They won't last for long (if through today even) so print print print! Combine many of them with mealbox coupons and you're bound to find something good!

I brought a change of shoes to entice me to go to the grocery after work today...hopefully it will work....I need bread...
**Kraft Miracle Whip or Mayo 2 for $4 (must buy 2), use 2 - $1 printable Kraft MW/Mayo coupons that I mentioned above or use $1 coupons from the 5/10 paper AND a $1 off 2 mealbox coupon = 2 free!
**Oscar Meyer Wieners 4 for $5 (buy 2), use $1 off 2 printable or from the 5/10 paper AND a $1 off 2 mealbox coupon and get them for $.25 each
**Aunt Millies bread $1.19, use $.35 coupons (doubled) from 5/10 paper and get it for $.49!
**Buy 2 Nabisco crackers get 3 Kraft Cheese for $1 each, use 2 - $1 printable Triscuit/Ritz coupons, use 2 - $1 off Nabisco Mealbox coupons and use 1 $1 off 2 cheese printables. In the end I think you would get all five items for about $3.
**Kraft Mac & Cheese .50 each...there are a few deals going on with this...Here is a Buy 3 get 1 free coupon. If you buy 4 you get a $1 coupon off your next order (could be used for anything), 5 you get $1.50 and 6 you get $2 - you're best deal would be buying 6. Spend $2.50 out of pocket and get $2 back, it's like your getting 6 boxes for $.50 (you would get 4 and 5 boxes for $.50 also, but why not just go for 6). Also, you may send in your receipt to get a free reusable tote bag (only one purchase is required) thanks Rachael Ray!

And remember, Meijer has everyday low prices on store brand milk $1.98, eggs $.98, whole chickens $.98/lb, bread $.98 and prepackaged salad $.98.

Meijer updates...

If you still plan on going to Meijer this week, check the updates in this post. The 10 small cereals do not work for the movie tickets, but 10 regular size cereals with the Derby Days Sale (5 for $10)(probably Louisville only) with 10 $1 off coupons will end up being the same price as the small cereals and you'll get the movie tickets. Do you have a place to store 10 boxes of cereal? It might be worth it!

Miejer - more updates

Meijer hasn't been too exciting lately . Yes, there's been an occasional Super Saturday, or 2-Day event but nothing to get really excited about...However, on page 8 of the ad if you buy 10 participating Kellogg's items you get 2 free movie tickets (probably a coupon at checkout and you'll go online to get your tickets). Do you see right there in the middle, Kellogg's cereal in a cup 10 for 10 get the 11th free? I mean, how convenient are those little things PLUS you're getting movie tickets which would probably cost about $16. Right? I really don't remember the last time I was at the movies...I used to go all the time...before babies...blah. UPDATE: the cereals in a cup DO NOT work. This is some terrible advertising, but the items must be 5.5 oz or above. After I purchased my 10 cereals last night I went to customer service and told them I didn't get my movie thing - showed them the ad, etc., and THEY pointed out the 5.5 oz thing to me. I politely said I would like to return them and THEY commented on how misleading the ad was...anyway, they felt bad and scanned a full size Mini Wheats they had behind the counter 10 times, gave me the movie thing and I kept the cereal. However, If you have a place to store a lot of cereal, in the Louisville area the derby day sale has Kellogg's 5 for $10. If you purchased 10 boxes and printed 10 $1 off coupons it would be the SAME price as the cups and you would still get the movie tickets!!!

Also, for the last few weeks they've had GREAT sales on staples - milk $1.98, bread $.98, eggs $.98, whole chicken $.98/lb, bagged lettuce $.98

Other GREAT deals:
Sweet Corn (get your grill out!) $.19 each
Blackberries 10 for $10 (reg price $2.99)
Meijer pasta 2 for $1

There is also a Derby Days Sale beginning Wed including:
3 lb ground chuck for $3.99 ($1.33/lb!)
8 piece fried chicken or rotisserie chick for $4.99 (probably cheaper that the $.98/lb uncooked chicken above)

and a bunch more...go check it out!

Meijer through the 21st...I know, I stink

When Kroger is across the street, a 15 minute trip to Miejer can seem out of the way. I saw some great deals this week so decided I'd go on the way home from work...not too much out of the way when I do that. I know I am a terrible savings blogger when I show the deals the day before they end, but I had a great trip, and had to share!

I have a pretty good stockpile of food, so I usually don't spend more than $40 a week on groceries. But Meijer had me yesterday and just wouldn't let go. I saved over $80 and spent $71.89.
First of all, I am a sucker for clearance items. My husband and I both are. When we go to Target, we usually make our way to the registers via the back aisles - the clearance shelves. Well, Meijer throws their clearance any which way and I mazed through the store ONLY because I came in on the wrong side - otherwise I would've just gotten the food - I mean it! Well, I got heart ice cube trays (for ice, chocolates, suckers...lots of molding possibilities) for .84. I got a package of 6 red hard plastic plates for .99 which I'll use to put Christmas sweets on as gifts. I got a sippy cup for $1.99 (the straw ones)...can you believe that is a good deal, geez. And then I got a set of 4 Crayola finger paints for $3.49. It wasn't that great of a deal but I can't resist my little boy with 4 stitches.

They have a ton of items 10 for $10 get the 11th free (mix and match)
- - 10 Quakes Rice Cakes, lots of flavor, yum, I had 10 - $1 off coupons making them all free, reg price $1.79
- -2 Bull's Eye BBQ, reg price $1.49
- -2 Knorr Lipton Sides, used .75 off 2, reg price $1.64
- -4 packages Meijer baggies, reg price $1.72
- -2 Totino's pizza rolls, used .40 of 2, doubled to .80, reg price $1.66
- -2 Meijer organic mushrooms, reg price $2, FREE as 21st & 22nd purchase
Good prices, but not part of 10/$10:
**Bertolli pasta sauce $2 - only certain brands have the yummy white sauces!
**Miejer milk $2 (can you believe how much milk has gone down!?!?)
**Nutrigrain bars 5/$10, however when you buy 5 Kellogg's products you get milk for free...I bought 6, used 3 - $1/2 off coupons and got the milk above for free
**Frozen Chicken breasts are $5 for 40oz bag = $2 per lb, which is a super deal.
**I also got some great steaks and sausages at 40% off because of the sell by date. All stores vary, but I'm sure you'll find something!

For this post I was just planning on uploading my receipt with some great notes but apparently it doesn't get any bigger in the format I used...blah...I did half the receipt to make sure it worked, and when it didn't I stopped...but you wouldn't know that because you can't see it!

You want more coupons, but not whole papers...

Hey! Me too! There were some great coupons in the paper this weekend. Whether you don't currently subscribe to the newspaper, or whether you want more of one coupon in particular, you have lots of options. Read the bottom of this post to see some reputable websites to order additional coupons.

I have one subscription for the Sunday paper, but places like Walgreens and Wal-Mart sell Sunday papers for $.99 (which is actually a little cheaper than having it thrown on my doorstep). Usually that one paper is plenty for our small family's needs, but when coupons come out that I know I'll use and want more of - or that I know I'll make a profit on, I'll order more.

For instance, today's paper has a coupon for $1 off any Quaker Rice Snack Product. Just last week those yummy yummy Quakes were on sale at Meijer 10 for $10. So I COULD have gotten it for free. I went on The Coupon Master website and ordered more! Others coupons I purchased:
**$2 off Gillette Shampoo ("free" at CVS in a few weeks AND also if KMart does Super Doubles again)
**$1 off Kibbles Wholesome Medley (George's usual food)
**$1 off 2 Nutri-Grain (this is from last weeks paper - Jacob eats these every morning for his pre-breakfast)
**$.50 off French mustard (often $1 at Kroger, which would be free when doubled)
**$.35 off Egglands Best (doubled at Kroger this is often cheaper than store brand - I needed to make a $3 purchase so this was my filler)

I also looked for the .50 off Cottonelle, but it seems they are out - Kroger has Cottonelle 4 packs for .99 everyday, so they would be free. Other good fillers are the $2.50 Electrosol coupons from a few weeks ago and $2 Excedrin (I should have added it because they're $1.99 at CVS this week, but I forgot). Good luck!

FREE LUNCH for you and your friends

Michael Angelo's Gourmet Foods (i.e. frozen pasta) is offering "free lunch" for you and 5 of your friends through January 31st. View the details on this rebate form. It may be necessary to sign up for the "Family Table Community" which you can do on their website. From the search on their website it seems that Michael Angelo's is available at Meijer, but it could be elsewhere.

P.S. if you're having a get together with more than six people get someone else to buy additional entrees and they can mail in their own rebate.

Meijer & Walgreens

I have been so focused on Kroger this week that I forgot that I had a $4 Register Reward expiring Friday, so I have to find some kind of deal to do - and I figured I'd share it with you!

Also, Meijer is having a one day sale on Saturday, so there are some great things to look for!

Walgreens
***Oscar Meyer fully cooked bacon, buy one get one free. On most of the packages there is a Free After Rebate form. So, 2 for free (after rebate).
***Wrigley's gum buy one get one free with in ad coupon, and use buy one get one free newspaper coupon and they're both free!

***free milk (look on page 13 of the ad) - buy 1 family size Jell-O $1, 1 Philadelphia Cream Cheese $1.25, and one Maxwell House Coffee 1/2 price - and the milk is free. If you still have the Jell-O mealbox coupon from last week you may use that (they are no longer on the site), also if you buy 3 total jello (does not have to be family size) you get $2 off your next order.
***The Breakstones coupon is still on the mealbox website too. The fruit and cottage cheese singles are 3 for $3.33 everyday, so with the $2 off 2 coupon they are .11 each!
***If you need some athletic shoes check on the Super Saturday Event for buy one get one for $1. They have New Balance, Reebok, etc. So this is a super deal.
***Sorry, nothing else is free for Super Saturday but take a look at the ad anyway. Maybe use your Taco or Grands overage to buy some LandOFrost lunchmeat (.69) or Dannon yogurt(.33)!

Meijer through 10/25

Okay, we've got all our drugs and toiletries this week...how about some FOOD! Last week I mentioned Meijer's Mealbox Coupons and all the great free and cheap items you can get with them. Well, this week a bunch of the mealbox coupon items are on sale! Personally I would buy extras of the profit food to make up for the cost of the non-profit food to have the lowest out of pocket. Print all your mealbox coupons from this website. In the box on the right, click on "specials" and you'll have 3 pages of coupons to print out!

  • Taco Bell Dinner Kit or Salsa $1.50 off. The picture on the coupon is for 12 hard tacos which are around $1.30 and the salsa is $1.85. So you can make a profit of $.20 or pay $.15 for salsa!
  • Jell-O gelatin or pudding $1.50 off 2. Gelatin is $.64 for a profit of $.22! I forgot to look at pudding, but I would assume it's around the same price
  • Breakstones Cottage Cheese $2 off any 2. Those cute little Breakstones cottage cheese with the fruit on the side are $3 for 3.33, for $.11 each!
  • Smucker's Uncrustables $1 off 2 MB, .75 MQ. Uncrustables are 1/2 off this week! So they're about $1.49 (x2) minus $1 off 2 MB minus 2 - .75 off = .25 each! I don't think you can make 4 PBJ's for .25!
  • Mrs.T's Pierogies are half price at $1.24. Use the $1 newspaper coupon and they just .24 each!
  • New York Garlic Toast/Sticks (yum) 2 for $4. Use 2 $.40 newspaper coupons (doubled) and the $1 off 2 MB for $.60 each!
  • Miejer Kettle Chips are 3/$5 this week, use the $1 off MB coupon and they're .66 each!
  • Meijer French Toast Sticks are 3 for $6. Use the $1 off 2 MB and they're $1.50 each!
  • Rosetto frozen pasta is 1.2 price at @ $2.09. Use the $1 off 2 MB and they're $1.59 each!
  • Dean's Ice Cream is also half price this week at $2.74, use the $1 off 2 MB coupon and they're just $2.49 each!

Here is a super picture that someone else took-total cost $4.82!

Meijer - no sales or newspaper coupons needed

Meijer Mealbox is a terrific website with a lot great resources for planning meals, making grocery lists and finding recipes. In addition to these things are Meijer printable coupons, and they may be used with manufacturer coupons. I didn't buy anything that was on sale - the items listed are regular price so you DO NOT have to run to the store this week...just before the coupon expires. There are many deals available with these coupons, but, here are the free (or super cheap) ones:

  • Taco Bell Dinner Kit or Salsa $1.50 off. The picture on the coupon is for 12 hard tacos which are around $1.30 and the salsa is $1.85. So you can make a profit of $.20 or pay $.15 for salsa!
  • Breakstones Cottage Cheese $2 off any 2. Those cute little Breakstones cottage cheese with the fruit on the side are $3 for 3, i.e. free.
  • Jell-O gelatin or pudding $1.50 off 2. Gelatin is $.64 for a profit of $.22! I forgot to look at pudding, but I would assume it's around the same price

Here are some mealbox (MB) & manufacturer coupon (MQ) combinations for which I do not know the cost of the product, but it's still got to be a good deal!:

  • Skippy PB $1 off 2 MB, .40 (doubled) MQ
  • Ziploc Zip & Steam $1 MB, .40 (doubled) MQ
  • New York Garlic Bread/sticks $1 off 2 MB, .40 (doubled) MQ
  • Farm Rich frozen snacks $1 off 2 MB, .75 or $1 printable MQ
  • Kashi entree/pizza/waffles $1 off 2 MB, $2 printable MQ
  • Birds Eye Veggies $1 off 2 MB, .35 (doubled) MQ or $1 off Voila printable
  • Pepperidge Farm frozen bread $1 off 2 MB, $1 off 2 MQ
  • Tyson Box/bag chicken $1 off 2, $1 off MQ
  • Smucker's Uncrustables $1 off 2 MB, .75 MQ (they're still a little pricey though, you may want to wait for a sale)

And then there's a bunch of Meijer brand items that I'm sure are a good price when combined with a sale.

The fine print on each coupon says one per transaction, but I have a feeling if you go through the U-Scan you may run through as many as you want.
