Meijer another SUPER Sale

I have been severely lacking in my planning this week - I've been quite busy at work. However, I did snag the ad for the Super Sale this weekend. While I have not devised my complete plan, I DO know that I will be getting Deli Creations 2 for $3 and using TWO $2 off coupons. Yes, that is FREE Deli Creations PLUS a $1 profit.

If you are a camper, they have those little propane tanks for $1.99!

Walgreens today and tomorrow

They have a $10 off $40 coupon out. Today and tomorrow are also "double-dipping" days for the August & SeptemberEasySaver Catalogs. I know there's a great deal in there, but it's going to take some major planning. Either way you play the coupon though you are getting 25% off of WHATEVER you buy.

Double dipping is tricky business. For two days a month you can use coupons and rebates from two months of the EasySaver catalogs. A lot of times the products overlap (which is silly for them but great for us) Using the $10 off $40 coupon, you must use all EasySaver and Walgreens coupons FIRST, then your total must be abover $40, then give them the $10 off $40 coupon, THEN start on manufacturer coupons. Does it sound confusing? Yes, it is. But carefully planned you can get some great stuff for free and make some (Walgreens) money. I think I've made about 8 Excel spreadsheets already trying to get the best bang for my buck (it does the math for me. If you local Wags does not have the September book out yet, you can print your coupons off their website .

Here is a quick and EASY transaction-this does not take full advantage of the DD, but it will work!
Chemistry Shampoo $7.99
Revitalift Lotion $16.49
2 John Freida Lux Volume (it's blue) $9.74 (on sale buy one get one 1/2 off)
Huggies Jumbo $9.49

Total before Q's: $43.71

GIVE Q's IN THIS ORDER!
$10 off $40
$3 off Chemistry from August catalog
$1 off Revitalift - newspaper
$3 off 2 John Frieda - All You may, or 2 $1 off from newspaper
$1 Huggies

Out of pocket: $25.71 - $26.71 depending of JF coupon.
Register Rewards recieved (instant gratificaion) = $11 ($2 Huggies & $9 JF)
Rebates recieved: $24.48 (Free after rebate Revitalift & Chemistry)
Profit: $12.21 (this includes 10% back on Walgreens card)
___________________________________

Other deals to throw in (it will take a lot more planning with the $10 off $40)
6 Garnier Fructice @ 3.99 = $23.94
- - use $1 off GF from August book = $6 (only need to give them one Q)
- - use up to 6 $1 off GF from newspaper
- - rebate for September, $10 back on $20 GF purchase
- - - at the most you are getting 6 for $7.94, if you have 6 $1 off coupons you are paying $1.94!

50 pictures for $5
-Walgreens has a GREAT website for developing pictures. Upload your pics and use coupon code GETFIFTY through Aug 30

Oust Air Sanitizer - buy TWO
- - use $1 off from September book = $2
- - use BOGO from newspaper = $4.49
- - rebate for August, $1 for each Oust
- - - this would end up being . 49 for two!

Get to $40 so you can use your $10 off by buying what you need! Milk, bread, etc!

CVS 8/24-8/30

The best "money making" scenarios for this week would be split into 3 separate transactions, but since that is crazy for most people to visit CVS 3 times this week. I will try to squish it into 2 trips - which won't be quite as profitable, but you'll still end up on top.

Trip #1
Kotex $1.49
2 Carefree (if you have the newspaper coupon, if not, get 2 OB) $9
Pepsi $3
Sobe $1

Total : $14.49

Coupons - in this order:
$2 off $10 iheartcvscoupon
$1 off Kotex
$4.50 Carefree - buy one get one free - from paper (OR use below)
2 - $1.50 off OB
$1 off - free Sobe with Pepsi purchase
any ECBs you may have

Out of pocket: $5.99 OR $7.49 if you got OB
ECBs recieved: $6.49 ($5 Carefree/OB, $1.49 Kotex)
Profit: .51 or you lost $.99 (come on, go buy the Sunday paper!), and you're on your way to the Pepsi and Sobe/Gatorage/Propel deals

_________________________________________
Trip #2
3 Pepsi $9
3 Sobe $3
1 Gatorade/Propel $1
Malt-O-Meal $1

Total: $16

Coupons - in this order
$2 off $10 iheartcvscoupon
$1 off malt-o-meal
$1 off - free Sobe with Pepsi purchase (I'm not sure how many of these you can print or use - you could use at least one on this order - if you can not print any more Sobe coupons you can mix and match Propel & Gatorade, you'll need a total of 5 to get the ECB)
$5 Carefree ECB
$1.49 Kotex ECB
any other ECBs you may have

Out of Pocket: $3.50
ECBs recieved: $6 ($3 Pepsi, $2 Sobe/Gatorage/Propeldeals)
Profit: $1.50 (or more depending on your Sobe coupon usage)

If you split this up into 4 $10 deals you could use the $2 off of $10 2 more times and maximize your profit. This would also make your out of pocket MUCH lower.

If you decide that you love CVS and want to go 4 times, then split up the two trips I gave you which originally would equal $28.49 and add in the ZipFizz for $5.99 or a gallon of milk or something you need. Like always, there are other GREAT deals at CVS this week, these are just the ones that will help you grow your ECBs so that you can get those things you really want/need without really paying for it!

Chicken for breakfast?

Yes, please.

Walgreens $5 off $20 coupon

Of course I get all my Walgreens shopping done this week and they throw a $5 off $20 coupon out there. It's good for today and tomorrow. So, if you want to complete the deal previously mentioned for this week, your out of pocket would be $5 less. Or for those that have not been collecting newspaper coupons, this coupon would get you up to speed with the rest of us!

*^&$alsfop8&%*&d Walgreens, why couldn't you have told me ONE day sooner!

In addition to the RR deals I mentioned you could get some of the free after rebate items on page 36 - 43 of the EasySaver Catalog. Which would give you a $5 profit on top of any manufacturer coupons you might use ($2 Pert), PLUS an additional 10% back when you get your rebate on a Walgreens gift card.

This was going to be a short post, but now I can't stop myself....do the RR deal using the $5 off $20 then go back to use your RR for the free after rebate items.
Free after rebate Items bought:
2 BioInfusion hair care @$5.99 = $11.98
Pert $3.79
Walgreens lighbulbs $1.99

Walgreens week ending 8/23

In addition to Walgreens having weekly ad coupons, monthly easysaver coupons and monthly rebates, they also have Register Rewards. Register Rewards are just like CVS's ECBs except they expire quicker (about 2 weeks - yikes). And a RR item cannot be used to purchase the same RR item. For instance, if you bought 2 Bertolli pastas and got a $5 RR you cannot buy more Bertolli and expect a RR, however you could purchase 2 Pantene and with your Bertolli RR and you WOULD get a $3 RR. PS if you have not bought Bertolli pasta before - do it - it is awesome, and this is THE cheapest you will find it (taking the RR into account).

Trip:
2 Bertolli Pasta $11.98
2 Skippy Peanut Butter $3.33
4 Ragu $6.67
72 ct Benefiber (clearance) $3.19 (just do it for the overage if you have newspaper Q's))

Total: $25.17

Coupons used:
$5 off $20 Walgreens coupon
$1.25 off Bertolli - newspaper
.40 off Skippy - newspaper
.50 off 2 Ragu -newspaper
$2 off Benefiber Caplets -newspaper
$2 off Benefiber EasySaver Catalog

Out of Pocket: $15.02
RRs received: $9 ($5 Bertolli & $4 Ragu/Skippy)

So REALLY you're out $5.02 for the whole thing - that is less than the sale cost of ONE Bertolli at Kroger. P.S. if you got two papers on Sunday, (good for you) you could use an additional Skippy and Ragu coupon.

And don't worry I'll give you some options on how to spend your RRs in the next few weeks! Don't let them expire!!!

Meijer week ending 8/23

I feel kind of strange talking about Meijer so much when my REAL passion is CVS, but I having trouble getting my CVS deal together and Meijer is making it too easy!

Meijer is giving you yet another chance at the buy x get y...and now there are even more coupons to use! I think I did every x and y deal they have except Coke (get $10 of athletic shoes when you buy $10 of Coke - I don't need any shoes).

My trip last night:
10 Nabisco To Go Packs @ $1 = $10
2 Fruit of the Loom socks (for Jeremy) @ $3.99 = $7.98
Fruit of the Loom undies $4.99
3 6-pack Mountain Dew @ $2.75 = $8.25
2 6-pack Pepsi @ $2.75 (5th one free) = $2.75
Levi's for Jeremy $17.99 (and they were really nice)
2 Honey Bunches of Oats (family size) @ $2.33 = $4.66
Honeycombs (family size) $2.34
milk $2.77
2 Kraft Deli Fresh Cheese 2/$7
Oscar Meyer Deli Fresh Turkey $2.50
Cantelope $1.66
Cabbage $.79 (on sale 3lb for $1)

Total before Q's and discounts:$73.68
Meijer Discounts: $10 FOTL when you buy Nabisco, $10 jeans wyb Pepsi, $2.77 milk wyb Post, $2.50 Oscar Meijer wyb Kraft deli fresh cheese
Total after Discounts:$48.41

Coupons used:
10 - $1 off Nabisco mealbox (look under specials and print coupons)
$1 off 2 FOTL -newspaper
$1 off 2 Honey Bunches of Oats mealbox
$1 off 2 Post -newspaper
.75 off Kraft Deli Fresh Cheese -newspaper

Out of pocket = $34.66 + tax ...well, that is what my out of pocket SHOULD have been. For some reason the register did not take off the $10 jeans and the $10 FOTL - I went to customer service, showed them the ad and the lady gave me a $20.

And I COULD NOT find any of my free Kraft coupons in my purse from the All You magazine; I don't know where they disappeared to! If I had that I would have gotten a free item (Crystal Light, Kraft Dressing, Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs or Kraft Singles) ,with the 2 Kraft cheese and 1 Oscar Meyer meat.

Feel free to ask me any questions about these deals, it can be a head spinner...and that's why I write it all out for myself!

Meijer this Saturday

After triple dipping already this week they are also having a Super Sale on Saturday only. So...

For your Coke purchase, you can go ahead with the $3.99 24 packs and Wheat Thins, and fill the $2.01 void with buy 2 get 1 6 pack bottles. They are already on sale this week 3 for $11, so you would instead get 3 for $7.33 . You would definately be going over the $10 Coke purchase required, but it's a great deal. So, when you BUY $10 in Coke you get $10 off athletic shoes....New Balance are on sale for 35% off AND there are coupons on the front of the ad for $3 off $14.97, $5 off $24.97, etc. So you could get a really great deal on shoes.

Also, if you are using the free Wheat Thins coupon and not so keen on getting 12 packs of Kool-Aid, Kraft shredded cheese is 1/2 price. So you could mix and match cheese and kool-aid (or whatever Kraft items you wish)!

Aunt Millie's hot dog and hamburger buns are buy 1 get 2 free. I'm pretty sure there are newspaper coupons out there for .35, which would double to .70, and you may be able to use three coupons for the three items - I'm not sure. Whatever the original price is, it will be a good deal when you get 2 free and you're saving an additional .70 (and maybe on each).

Wow, is that confusing enough?

My CVS trips this week - ending 8/16

These are two deals that I did Tuesday. I didn't plan on going to 2 CVS, but I did so well the first time, I just drove down the street to the next one. Beware of the grumpy cashier! Using this many CVS coupons can make cashiers crazy. CVS put these coupons out and they WILL WORK on these products (regardless of you making money on them). If the cashier chooses not to take the coupon (because the register will) it is your choice to walk away from the entire transaction and go to the next CVS down the street! The cashier may also choose to adjust the coupon down to the cost of the product - that is the cashiers choice (because again, this WILL WORK) and again, you can choose to walk away.

Trip #1
CVS sun care wipes $.49 (it's $2.49 on the shelf but it's $2 off)
CVS Q-tips $1.50
1/2 gallon milk $2.49
Alavert 12 count (with 6 bonus for 18) $5.99

$2 off CVS skin care iheartcvscoupon (using this for Q-tips)
$1 off CVS sun care iheartcvscoupon
$4 off Alavert printable coupon

Out of pocket: $1.47 + tax

ECB recieved: $3 for Alavert. I'm also $1.50 (q-tips) on my way to the baby deal (spend $25, get 5 ECB) I'm not sure if I will complete this deal, because I would have to get a lot of q-tips/wipes to make it worth it, but for now it's free and we'll see how the week goes)

Profit: $1.53

______________________________

Trip #2
2 Huggies Clean Team Wipes $5
Infants Advil liquid $5.69 (this is a monthly deal )
CVS Q-tips $1.50 (just for the profit)

Q's used
$2 off $10 purchase iheartcvscoupon
$3 off 2 Clean Team (newspaper)
$2 off Advil (the coupon says 40ct or larger, but since it's liquid, it works) (newspaper)
$2 off CVS skin care iheartcvscoupon
Used $3 ECB from the Alavert deal

Out of Pocket: .19 + tax

ECBs recieved: $5.69 from Advil - and now I'm $8 on my way to the baby deal - still not sure if I'm finishing it...

Profit: $2.50 (5.69 ECB - 3 ECB used - .19 oop) Not only did I get it for free after ECBs, I made enough between these trips to pay for a gallon of gas...Does Thornton's take ECBs???

CVS info

Well, Jeremy is working late tonight and Jacob is asleep, so I'll just go ahead and tell you about CVS...

CVS is a little more detailed, but it can yield big "profits." CVS, like Walgreens, has store coupons which you can use with manufacturer coupons. You need a CVS card (like Kroger) to get any of the advertised deals. You can sign up and get it in the store.

ECBs are Extra Care Bucks, which are kind of their form of a rebate. When you buy an ECB item, it prints out at the end of your receipt and you can use it like cash on your next purchase...you just have to keep track of all those pieces of paper.

iheartcvs.com has a great list of printable CVS coupons. They are all legitimate - iheartcvs just saved them all in one place, so it is easy to find what you need. Most of them are out of the beauty handbook which you might be able to find in the store, and they are on and off of the CVS website, but iheartcvs saved them. However, the site also lists coupons that are sent directly to specific customers (which the site will tell you); if you didn't get them e-mailed to you they will more than likely "beep" and the register will not take them.

Hey, and don't worry about CVS when you're making money! The manufacturer puts out the ECBs incentives because they want to get us in the door...they just don't think we're going to come back and use them!!!

Walgreens - week ending 8/16

Walgreens is quite a bit easier than CVS, so I'll post it first. At Walgreens you can use manufacturer coupons along with store coupons, which would come out of the weekly ador the EasySaver Catalog, both available when you walk into the store.

Buy:
2 Packs Bic Ultra Round Grip Pens 2/$1
Scott Extra Soft $1.99 (in ad coupon)
Pert Plus $3.79
Soliel Razor $5.99
72 ct Benefiber caplets $3.19 (you might not need this, but with coupons you make $.71, it's on clearance - if it's not marked, ask for a price check to make sure you got the right one, come on it's worth $.71!)

Total: $15.96

Q's used:
$1 off 2 Bic printable coupon
($1.99 Scott coupon, tear off front page of weekly ad)
$1 of Scott Extra Soft printable coupon
$2 off Pert Plus (newspaper coupon) (money maker after rebate)
$3 off Soliel Razor (from newspaper)
$2 off Soliel Razor (page 14 ofEasySaver Catalog , pick it up in the store)
$2 off Benefiber (from newspaper)
$2 off Benefiber (page 22 of EasySaver Catalog)
Total out of pocket = $2.96 (+tax)

Rebates = Pert Plus = $3.79 (page 43 of the EasySaver Catalog if you get it back on a Walgreens gift card you get an additional 10% back, so you would get back $4.16. Rebates are super easy at Walgreens. You do everything online and don't have to worry about all the forms and keeping receipts - it's all kept online

Profit = .83, (or $1.20 on a Walgreens card) Yeah, I'd say you just got all that for free...

Meijer week ending 8/16

Go buy four of those All You magazines I told you about...Yes you will spend $7.08 doing so, but there is one page in particular that has 5 free items (Kraft Salad Dressing, Oscar Mayer hot dogs, Crystal Light, Wheat Thins & Kraft Singles cheese) when you buy 3 Kraft products (each). For Meijer this week, we want those free Wheat Thins coupon.

In Meijer's ad this week there are a lot of buy x get y deals. We're going to combine them all into one super deal! On the first page of the Meijer ad, buy 2-24 packs of Coke and 2 boxes of wheat thins, get the Coke for $3.99 each (GREAT DEAL ON COKE). On page 6 of the ad if you buy $10 in Coke products you get $10 off athletic shoes, AND if you buy $10 in Nabisco (Wheat Thins) products you get $10 off 3 packs of Hanes. So, here goes the triple dip.

Buy:
4 boxes wheat thins @ $2.75 = $11
12 packets of Kool-Aid @ .10 = $1.20 (must buy 3 Kraft products per Wheat Thins Q)
2-24 pack Coke @ 3.99 = $7.98
2-liters of Coke? 12-packs of Coke? $2.01 (any Coke product to make it to $10 total Coke)
3 packages of Hanes (boys/girls socks in children's area for $2.99 & $3.49...you could also buy adult underwear, undershirts etc., but that would cost more - depends on what you NEED)
New tennis shoes! $16.99 (pulled this out of a hat, I have no idea what shoes you want to buy)

Total before sales and coupons = $48.65 (2 socks at $2.99 and one at $3.49)

Register subtracts $10 on Hanes, and $10 on shoes = $28.65

Give them the 4 Wheat Thins Coupons @ $11 and your paying $17.65 + tax

....and you got shoes! and socks! and a ton of Coke!!! and free Wheat Thins, yum! Throw some dip into your cart and you've got a party! Are we buying in bulk at Meijer or what?!?!

P.S. I cannot believe that Jacob fits into socks from the BOYS section. He is getting so big!!!

Can I Get It For Free...The Beginning

I've been using coupons for a few years which all started sitting the back office of Academic Records with Elizabeth and a fun little website, grocery game . Since AR days I have moved out to a wonderful job in Oldham County. Here I have a little bit of free time during the day and a whole hour at lunch. Since I don't really have any errands to run being 30 minutes out of town, and my coworkers and I all take different lunches, it ended up being me and my lunch staring at each other...and there began the OCD.

With the help of
a full cup and i heart cvs I filled endless lunches and a few afternoon moments gathering my steals and deals. Many times I do not need the bags of stuff I bring home, but if I got it for free or made a profit doing so, I will most definitely throw it in my cart and see if someone else can use it (and maybe have a yard sale down the road). Also, look into giving your extra stuff to church, homeless shelters, or friends and family that are in need/want.

A lot of people think it's great to get such great deals and want to know how to do it, but often think it's too much work. Personally I think it's fun and it just takes a couple lunch hours (and some Sunday afternoon clipping) to get organized each week. Most of the shopping I would do as any normal person...unless there are some really good CVS/Walgreens deals, then it may seem a little weird...but always worth it.

Anyway, I thought I would start blogging the deals I find each week (mostly stolen from other sites, but combined here for your viewing pleasure). That way, I don't bother those people that I e-mail each week with fantastic deals (that may not really want it). And hey, if they are really interested, they can just visit!

There are many printable coupons out there, but for the most part, you will want to buy the Sunday paper. You can get it for 99 cents at Wal-Mart. Another great source for coupons (if you're at Wal-Mart anyway!) is the All You magazine - only available at WallyWorld. It is $1.77 and has page after page of coupons. Some people read magazines; I tear through them for coupons.

And if no one wants to read my blog, at least it is a place where I can get all MY deals together and organized. Okay, that's my introduction...I'm off to post my first deal.
